Happy Labor Day to all the Action-Flix Fanatics out there! As I prepare to work on the holiday that is supposed to support an off day for working (ironic, isn’t it?), I figured I’d give you all a double shotgun blast of my new segment called The Weekly Intel Rapid Fire formerly known as The Weekly Intel Recap. This is the category of the site where I cover some of the latest news that happened throughout the last week in a fast and concise form for all of you to consume because we all know that time is a luxury none of us have. With that out of the way, let’s lock and load and get started!
Star Wars: Starfighter Adds Amy Adams, Aaron Pierre & More!
It’s needless to say that the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter movie from director Shawn Levy is highly anticipated. Starring Ryan Gosling and already announced cast members Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, the trades this week also dropped the bomb that Lanterns star Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and 6-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams have also officially joined the cast with production ramping up in the UK. Levy, who most recently helmed the ultra-blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, is directing the movie, which is reportedly taking place five years after The Rise of Skywalker.
A new photo was released of Gosling looking suave and cool to celebrate the start of filming and you can see it below!

The David Harbour Sequel Violent Night 2 Adds Daniela Melchior and Kristen Bell to the Cast!
The ultra-gory and extremely enjoyable Christmas actioner Violent Night is certainly on all of our must-see lists when release is imminent. The follow up from David Leitch’s 87North production banner has announced that two new cast members are joining the cast as Daniela Melchior (Road House, The Suicide Squad) and Kristen Bell (Frozen) are set to join Harbour. We do not know who they will be playing as of now, and plot details are still hush, hush but we can all confirm that David Harbour’s merciless take on Santa Claus will once again deliver the hyper-kinetic action design and over the top carnage. Tommy Wirkola, who helmed the first film, returns in the director’s chair.
