It is true. No one says mother f@cker quite like Samuel L. Jackson and just like Harrison Ford in Air Force One, Jackson plays a commander-in-chief in his newest offering that we wished we had in real life instead of the one we got in reality. The movie is called The Beast, and it features Jackson usual vintage swagger as he is a president who takes no shit and has a car that takes even less shit. With an injured Joel Kinnamen along for the ride, check out the new trailer featuring Jackson lay waste to countless, faceless goons courtesy of Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger director Renny Harlin!
You know Air Force One. Now meet The Beast.
When a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the U.S., the president is forced to drive the presidential limousine and unlock the full extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities to save his injured Secret Service agent, reunite with his wife, and save the world.
TRAILER TACTICAL REACTION: I pretty much summed it up in my opening paragraph but I wil elaborate and say that The Beast looks like a bullet whizzing, body blasting, bombastic hell of a ride. Samuel L. Jacksom is in fine form and making a movie featuring a presidential car that is essentially a tactical (oh man, there’s that word again and IYKYK) war weapon on four wheels is something different for the action genre. We’ve been getting countless retired assassin films so it’s refreshing to see Jackson go all one-man army machine and decimate countless m-fers with next gen weapons built into a car. The movie looks sleek, polished and the action sequences are certainly bombastic and ferocious. Having Joel Kinnamen play an injured secret service agent in the back seat while all this is going on is a chef’s kiss and this might just be one of the most unlikely buddy actioners to come along in a while. Let’s jump in, turn the key and light up the night with tracer fire!
Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman star in The Beast. Only in theaters October 9.
