Starz has unleashed a new trailer for the spin-ff series S.W.A.T. Exiles that aired for several season of CBS and if one thing is clear. it’s time to stay liquid! After a fatal shooting on the job leaves his career hanging by a thread, LAPD S.W.A.T. Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson is forced into retirement, in retaliation for refusing to bury the truth. Two years later, he’s back, tasked with building a new tactical unit from the department’s most talented outcasts. The team, soon named the Exiles, includes a live-streaming hotshot, a socially awkward tech genius, a fiercely disciplined operator with something to prove, a wildcard with a troubled past, and a strategist with a hidden agenda. As the squad finds its footing under fire, Hondo uncovers something far more dangerous than any street threat: a mole in his ranks, and a conspiracy reaching into the LAPD’s top brass and the Mayor’s office; one built to tear S.W.A.T. apart from within.
TRAILER TACTICAL REACTION: It’s no secret that S.W.A.T. was my second favorite action series just after SEAL Team and the best was when the two aired back-to-back for a few seasons. It was the best of both world as you had military tactical coolness infused with city urban tactical awesomeness and now, we have more of the show that won’t die. Sure, it’s not the exact same show that aired on CBS and aside from Shemar Moore and a few cameos from some of the original cast, we have a whole new generation of ass kickers to get to know but I’m all in. With the spin-off hitting Starz, expect an even harder edge to the series just like when SEAL team went to Paramount+ and this looks like it will stay true to the original show while paving anew path for the future. Plus, it’s got Shemar Moore and his ultra-cool swagger and bravado laced with weekly firefights and fisticuff fueled action sequences. Lock “N” Load and get ready faithful because S.W.A.T. is back and it’s a return to heads on a swivel and staying liquid while taking down the baddies!
