March is going to be a busy month for genre fans as Well Go USA is unleashing a trio of action drenched goodies on Digital platforms and with us already discussing two of them in Operation Undead and I Did It My Way, there’s one more to go and we saved the best for last in director Herman Yau’s bullet riddled crime actioner Customs Frontline. Starring Nicholas Tse and Jacky Cheung, this movie makes the grade with solid action design and set pieces as well as some human infused drama to go along with the chaos. I actuall was able to check this one out for review when it hit theaters last summer so aside from some nitpicks, this is another rousing entry in Hong Kong action cinema.
Well Go USA Entertainment is releasing four titles exclusively on Digital in the month of March, including CUSTOMS FRONTLINE on March 11, I DID IT MY WAY and OPERATION UNDEAD on March 18, and MY DEAREST FU BAU on March 25
Hong Kong stars Nicholas Tse and Jacky Cheung team up in Herman Yau’s latest action spectacle. Customs finds illegal arms in Hong Kong waters, their quest to take down the dealers leads to some of the most incredible action in recent memory.

From my review last summer, I thought Customs Frontline “ignited a fuse of elite, Hong Kong style combat cinema.” I also stated in my analysis that “Customs Frontline succeeds when the ferocious action takes charge and it’s here where we see Hong Kong combat cinema at its purest form. It might not stand up to other exports from the region like the aforementioned Raging Fire, but it still manages to invoke the right level of testosterone when the time calls for it. Nicholas Tse proves why he has been working in the genre for so long and he is a welcome sight in any action pic from any region as he is a maestro of unarmed and armed action design on the screen. Some of the heavy dramatic elements fail to deliver a spark but that’s OK when the action still manages to light the fuse.” For my full review, click the link below!
