Cue Frank Sinatra’s iconic singing as old school, throwback 80’s and 90’s Hong Kong crime melodrama with buckets of bullets is back with the new trailer for director Jason Kwan‘s (Chasing the Dragon films) latest crime opus I Did It My Way. Starring an all-star cast of Hong Kong notables including the one and only Andy Lau (Infernal Affairs series, House of Flying Daggers), Gordan Lam Ka-tung (Ip Man, Once Upon a Time in Hong Kong), Eddie Peng (Operation Mekong), and the elite Simon Yam (Ip Man franchise, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life), this is a definite homage to what made that made that era of high stakes Hong Kong action cinema so great. Well Go USA is releasing the film digitally this March so partake in the new trailer, key art and more below!
Undercover cop Ho (Gordon Lam) is tasked with taking down an unknown drug lord. When it turns out to be his friend George (Andy Lau), the stakes couldn’t be higher. Featuring Hong Kong icons Simon Yam and Suet Lam in supporting roles.

There’s a distinct Infernal Affairs vibe here and there is no denying that director Jason Kwan is paying respect to those that came before him. The plot resonates a Shakespearian aesthetic coupled with betrayal, intrigue and a healthy dose of spent ammunition before all is said and done. Lau cannot turn in a bad performance and anytime Simon Yam graces the screen, audiences go to acting school. Mistakes, well they made a lot so bring on the tragic bullet ballet!
