I had mixed feelings about season one of Taylor Sheridan’s black ops series Lioness starring Zoe Saldana and Nichole Kidman, but all my negativity was laid to rest with a far superior second season. While the first season was a mixed bag for me with a stellar dynamic of the spec ops group and Saldana and her crew had excellent chemistry together, but I was disappointed in the fact that the show ventured off into soap opera land way too much. The second season, while still maintaining a strong emotional element, fixed those issues and delivered some of the best tactical action and camaraderie for a TV show. Saldana and Kidman are the rue standouts of the show, but the series does benefit from a robust supporting cast as well.
The third season of Lioness officially drops today and here’s hoping that the latest season can continue to capture the bullet riddled magic of the junior effort. The trailers sure do bode well for the new episodes, and I am ready to jock up and deploy for another round of Zoe Saldana led covert warrior aesthetics.
Well, I’ve been busy as of late, I thought I would show off the third season trailers for all of you and garner my thoughts ahead of viewing the latest season that premieres today. Scroll below for plenty of Zoe Saldana looking marvelous as she goes down range with her elite crew!

Saladana and Kidman star alongside James Jordan, LaMonica Garrett, Austen Hébert, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, and Jill Wagner with newcomer Ian Bohen joining this season as a series regular.
TRAILER TACTICLA REACTION: With season 2 setting a very high bar in terms of both action and emotional scale, season 3 looks to ramp up the theatrics even more. Saldana is perfect in her role of black ops leader Joe McNamara, and she continues to radiate the bad ass vibes while clearly showcasing that military action is not just for the boys. Kidman is scene stealing as always as CIA supervisor Kaitlyn Meade and always offers a star-studded co-starring element with a supporting cast that is tier one.
I’m not sure how much further Lioness will go but season 3 looks absolutely cinematic in its scale and tactical action set pieces with enough male and female testosterone aplenty. In Sheridan we trust and the prolific filmmaker and televison creator knows how to balance quality action set pieces with rousing and real-world storytelling. Lioness is another example that Sheridan knows how to suck in an audience and not let go until the final episode.
Lioness Season 3 premieres Sunday, August 2, only on Paramount+.
