Aaron Eckhart has really been lobbying for action hero status as of late with starring roles in Muzzle and The Bricklayer. Eckhart has been doing the adrenaline dance for years now, so it makes perfect sense to finally transition into DTV hero. What better Director to have Eckhart’s six then action maestro Jesse V. Johnson (Triple Threat, One Ranger) who helms the actor’s latest endeavor titled Chief of Station.
A new trailer has come online showcasing the thrills and chaos in store for fans and with a supporting cast that includes Olga Kurylenko, who works with Johnson a lot, and action star Daniel Bernhardt, this one deserves a look. Scroll below for the new footage!
Official Synopsis: An ex-CIA agent must work alongside a former foe when he discovers that his wife’s supposed accident was anything but, and he soon faces a world of conspiracy as he steps back into a life of espionage.

With Johnson at the helm and Eckhart displaying his well-earned action chops, this one is a no brainer to check out once it hits the streaming platforms. Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four, Black Noise) rounds out the cast for this spy themed thriller with some sensational looking beats of action including Eckhart once again demonstrating some pretty epic looking CQB empty handed combat action. Coupled with some amazing looking cinematography including Budapest where it was filmed, and this one has a definite theatrical tinge to it so it’s a shame that it’s only getting a limited theatrical run to go along with the digital premiere.
Johnson is one of the premiere action directors having cut his teeth as a stunt pro before turning filmmaker. He is just one of several stunt professionals who have successfully transitioned to directing which is a current and can’t miss trend in action cinema as of late. With films like Triple Threat, Savage Dog, The Debt Collector films (all starring action star Scott Adkins) and the exceptional WWII epic Hell hath No Fury which also stars Bernhardt, Johnson has proven time and time again that he can deliver when it comes to adrenaline and controlled chaos onscreen. Kurylenko has benefited from working with Johnson in the past and has looked sensational in his directorial efforts The White Elephant and Boudica. Johnson likes to surround himself with friends and it shows off in the finished product.
I’m always there when a Jesse V. Johnson helping of mayhem and carnage hits the screen so I’ll be dialed into this one when it hits. Unleash the Bernhardt!!!
