I’m pretty sure this is the final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day seeing as the film hits in two weeks but one can never be too sure these days. Add in the fact that the 2026 SDCC hits this weekend and with Marvel Studios raiding Hall H after an absence in recent years, expect more surprises to drop on this one as well as Doomsday and other future projects. While this new tease amps up the action, emotions and Ninjas, see if you can spot the major issue, I have with it which will be discussed below with my TTR!
It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see.
The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.
Shang-Chi helmer Destin Daniel Cretton directs from a script penned by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Justin Kuritzkes which is, of course, based on the MARVEL Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Producers include Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O’Connor. Louis D’Esposito David Cain serves as executive producers.
The all-star cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.
TRAILER TACTICAL REACTION: Marvel doesn’t need to sell me anymore on Brand New Day as well as Doomsday but while this final(?) trailer amps up the emotions, action and ninjas, there’s one underlying issue I had with it. We have more savage Hulk, more dilemma with MJ and Ned not knowing who Peter is and more villains to shake a stick at but nowhere to be seen this time around is…you guessed it…Jon Bernthal’s Punisher!
Listen before all of you come at me with the fact that Bernthal is only a small supporting player here (I’m well aware) I think that it is a colossal, missed opportunity not to hype up the sheer magnetism of Bernthal and Holland’s chemistry together here. From the little glimpses we have seen on the web, Frank and Peter battling the bad guys while battling each other verbally looks to be one of the best parts of the film. People are saying that they are so buddy action spot on that we will need to see these two star in their own MCU movie down the line. I get that they don’t want to show too much but just a little sampling of the bromance these two have going on in this film could sell the movie even more. Not that it needs any more selling and it will probably break box office records. At the end of the day, I’m a massive fan of all things Punisher and I’ll always be there to hype up one of comic book’s greatest and infamous anti-heroes. Hopefully Bernthal and Holland share a good amount of screentime, and we get what we want. We shall see true believers.
