OK, so this time Liam Neeson isn’t getting on the action physically but he’s still headlining an action-thriller which also stars Zachary Levi titled The Fix. Once again, Neeson’s reports of retiring from action have been debunked and will continue to be so until the star actually hangs it up. The film looks like a tension ripping black ops actioner that is dealing with some heavy real-world stuff, and we have the official first look for you below!
THE FIX follows a group of war-torn CIA operators mentored by “Larry” (Liam Neeson) and led by “Tucker” (Zachary Levi) who, after their mission in Afghanistan goes tragically wrong, enter the heart of Tehran to earn redemption by pulling off a daring rescue.
Guy Moshe directs from a script written by Ron Hutchinson from a story by Moshe, Baz and Mark Bacci. Neeson and Levi star along with Quincy Isaiah, Wes Chatham, Elnaaz Norouzi, and Titus Welliver.
TRAILER TACTCIAL REACTION: You all know that I have and have always been a sucker for black ops/military actioners that feature heavy weaponry and firepower and bad ass operators carving a bloody swath through a gauntlet of faceless adversaries while things explode and bullets shred the air. Having Neeson in the role of mentor and the guy in the control room is perfect and Levi is certainly going out of his comfort zone here as he plays a former soldier with intense issues. This looks to blend spec ops caliber theatrics with a heist storyline and setting it in Iran which is a hotbed of news lately only deepens the tension giving the plot thread a real-world tone. Hopefully the film can deliver on the promise, and it doesn’t go off the rails like it might suggest with the trailer but I’m all in to see it.
