At this rate and with reviews pouring in like a flurry of kicks from Donnie Yen himself, fans should know that the late, great director Benny Chan’s swan song Raging Fire is a fitting tribute to the action maestro’s career. Yen and company deliver in the film that I personally call an “operatic action spectacle!”
If you’re still on the fence on whether you should see the film, although I don’t know why you would be if you call yourself a serious action fan, then check out a blistering clip featuring Yen running a gauntlet of goons in one of my favorite scenes from the movie. It’s got everything Yen fans could want as Donnie pummels the competition with fists, feet and just about anything else he can find. Check it out below!
I personally had a great surprise today when I discovered that Donnie Yen himself shared my review of the film on his official Twitter page. Words can’t express how I felt when I saw it. I believe it’s one of the first reviews for him to post as well so having the king of action cinema acknowledge my work makes it all worthwhile. Peek at it below!
Also be sure to read my full review of the movie here as it is definitely one of the best action films to come out in a while. With this being Chan’s last film, it is a fitting one for fans.
Raging Fire hits select theaters tomorrow courtesy of Well Go USA so if it’s playing close to you, watch the Donnie Yen infused mayhem on the big screen! A full list of cities where it’s playing is below!

Shan (Donnie Yen) is a highly respected hardline cop with a long history of success on dangerous cases. However, his past unexpectedly comes back to haunt him when a sting operation is attacked by a mysterious group of criminals led by Ngo (Nicholas Tse), his former protégé, a talented former officer who had once respected and admired Shan. However, a terrible mistake three years prior landed him in prison, quickly turning the once rising star into a furious man with a grudge, and the will to destroy everyone who had wronged him—including his former mentor.
