To celebrate National Power Rangers Day on August 28th, Well Go USA is set to unleash the long-awaited sci-fi actioner Legend of the White Dragon which stars the late, great Jason David Frank who unfortunately passed away way too soon. In honor of his legacy, his final film which fuses Star Wars, Power Rangers and The Guyver into one rollicking, bone breaking, gravity defying action pic featuring dazzling special effects and extreme action design. The film will hit theaters for a limited run starting on the 28th and to celebrate the release, Well Go USA has unleashed a powerful new clip featuring the elite martial arts action that awaits us. Jason David Frank is the White Dragon. Forced to hide in the shadows, fugitive hero Erik Reed must clear his name to reunite with his family. Standing in his way is a mysterious villain obsessed with destroying the White Dragon for good.

Legend of the White Dragon takes its cues from the Power Rangers, The Guyver and more while forging its own destiny at the same time. While it will truly be bittersweet to see Frank in his last performance, it’s also a celebration of his life and career that has touched countless lives. The trailer emotes the desired reaction from genre enthusiasts as it showcases its sci-fi aesthetic while deploying insane martial arts action sequences that combine both jaw dropping stunt work and action design with blockbuster worthy visuals. Who knows where Frank’s career would have taken off too after the release, but Legend of the White Dragon looks like a bone smashing good time emulating an old school blockbuster video era vibe that is certainly welcome. It also serves as a reminder that legends never die, and Frank’s legacy will indeed live on.
The new clip shows off the full-on gravity defying action we are in store for and it expertly blends elements of Power Rangers with a hint of Star Wars as the two warriors battle with rad looking lightsaber style weaponry that erupts from their wrists. The fighting is ferocious, expertly choregraphed and displayed and genre fans will surely get their fix while honoring Frank’s memory at the same time.

Legend of the White Dragon will hit theaters on August 28th. On that day Regal Cinemas will feature a fan event celebrating Power Rangers Day where fans in attendance will be treated to a special introduction by Jenna Rae Frank while also receiving an exclusive print.
