We have some more 411 on the previously announced project that Gina Carano will star in and produce since being key go from The Mandalorian. We all know that Carano was canned from Disney after a series of controversial social media posts hit the net but that isn’t slowing the one time MMA star turned actor down one bit.

Reports via DEADLINE are saying that Carano will star in and produce a new revenge thriller which will be penned by The Hitcher scribe Eric Red. Carano will star as a traumatized woman who enlists the aid of a long hauler to seek revenge on a serial killer who almost killed her.

Per Deadline: The Hitcher and Near Dark scribe Eric Red has written the script for the untitled action-thriller, which is based on his novel White Knuckle. The story follows a strong-willed woman who survives an attempt by serial killer-trucker “White Knuckle.” Haunted by her encounter and the cops’ inability to catch her tormentor, she partners with a trucker to end the killer’s reign of terror.

Carano will also produce the film which will team her up with conservative media company The Daily Wire who is looking to break into the film production business.

“I’m completely ignited to be creating this thriller with The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend. I feel I am exactly where I want and need to be at this moment in my life; it feels as if I have wings,” Carano told Deadline.

Carano is used to playing strong willed ass kickers on her previous films so it’ll be interesting to see her take on a role that is more vulnerable. Casting is underway and filming will commence later this year in Tennessee, Utah and Montana with a projected release date in quarter one of 2022.

Red is famous for penning two cult classic horror pics on the original The Hitcher starring C. Thomas Howell and the late, great Rutger Hauer as well as Near Dark starring Bill Paxton and Lance Henrikson.
