Godzilla rules and rules with ultimate might. I’ve been a fan since I was in elementary school and 2024’s Godzilla Minus One was, without a doubt, one of the best installments since the original. The film was an Oscar winner for visual effects and the king of monsters never looked better or more terrifying than he did in the epic anti-war film. Upon viewing the movie, it immediately became one of my all-time favorites, but I never thought that it warranted a sequel as it was near perfect the way it was and ended but, alas, here we are and I’m not complaining in the slightest as the anticipated follow up is ready to roar into cinemas late 2026.
The sequel, titled Godzilla Minus Zero, has issued a haunting new poster, and TOHO has announced that the film will stomp its way into theaters in Japan on November 3rd with a North American roll-out a few days later on November 6th. Check out the menacing new poster below which may signal the arrival of a new Kaiju.

Plot details for the sequel are classified as of this writing but acclaimed filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki, who helmed the first one, returns as director, writer and VFX supervisor once again. With over thirty films in Godzilla’s arsenal, Minus One was hailed by many as the greatest Godzilla movie ever made so that puts a lot of pressure on Yamazaki to deliver in the second film. The filmmaker was adamant about making a sequel after the success of the first, so it bodes well that he is in command once again. Yamazaki vows to bring the same serious tone of the first film to the second and that this will be no ordinary Kaiju on Kaiju film that has ever seen the light of day.
Fans have been scrambling to figure out who Godzilla’s opponent will be in Minus Zero with many claiming that they can see clues in the above poster. Hedora seems to be the favorite as the teaser one sheet is nothing more than smoke, but we all wait to see what awaits with this one.
While we wait for more highly anticipated intel on Godzilla Minus Zero, check out the big guy in action from the first Academy Award winning film! The inner seven-year-old in me is screaming as we speak.
