After the very divisive Punisher: King of Killers storyline and a very unsuccessful attempt to have someone else take up the mantle, Frank Castle is back with ferocious bloodletting as Marvel Comics is ready to unleash the vigilante in a new Red Band limited series. Cancel culture can’t keep a good killer down and Frank is locked, cocked and reloaded as he is set to navigate a world where he has no memory but still has the killer instinct to dish out his unique brand of street punishment. Check out the cover for issue 1 and all the intel on this prolific return below!

Official Synopsis: Reread and reload, True Believers – Frank Castle is BACK. With no memories, a full clip and a thirst for wrathful vengeance, his violent search for answers could only be chronicled in a Red Band series! Bullets will fly, blood will flow, and the citizens and criminals of New York City alike will fear the name THE PUNISHER!
The Punisher Red Band is a 5 shot mini-series from Benjamin Percy and Julius Ohta and it looks to correct the course that the previous maligned titles instigated. The skull is front and center and the bullets and dark bravado will shine through the dark streets as Frank Castle is back and gunning for all that is guilty!
“Frank Castle—that dark-hearted, vengeance machine, that monster who fights monsters—is one of my all-time favorite characters, and Punisher is a series I’ve been gunning to write for a long, long time,” Percy stated. “Not only is Frank back in black, but this is a Red Band book. You know what that means. I’m going to lean in fully and push the very limits of my favorite genre: hairy psychopaths. This is going to be as gritty and bloody as it gets. Street-level mayhem awaits you. And Julius Ohta—who I collaborated with previously on Hellverine—is bringing all the blood and fire and rage to the page with his beautiful, terrifying art.”

As a longtime fan of this infamous character, I couldn’t be more excited to see what this new limited series entails. Frank and his style have been hotly debated throughout the decades ever since he made his iconic debut in The Amazing Spider-Man issue 129. I have loved every and all issues I have read for various reasons and even love all, and I mean all, of the live action adaptations with Bernthal being number one on my list. I commend Marvel for giving the fans what they want and doing it the right way.
This new Red Band series is looking to bring back the iconic vibes of the original MAX comics and it is evident; they won’t hold back with the violence and politically incorrect issues that follows the character. The artwork alone looks adults only and the action will be even more fierce.
