Andrew Koji Enlists for the Dystopian Action-Thriller BOY KILLS WORLD

By: John M Jerva

It would appear that his tenure as Storm Shadow in the GI JOE universe is one and done but martial arts action sensation Andrew Koji isn’t slowing down and is looking towards the future.

Deadline is reporting that the Warrior star has enlisted for the upcoming action-fantasy ensemble Boy Kills World. Koji will be joking an eclectic cast that already includes It’s Bill Skarsgard, Koji’s Snake Eyes co-star Samara Weaving and Indonesian powerhouse Yayan Ruhian from The Raid film.

Boy Kills World is described as a one-of-a-kind action spectacle set in a dystopian fever-dream reality and follows a boy who is a deaf mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, he escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.

Sam Raimi and Roy Lee are producing with first time feature film director Moritz Mohr helming.

Koji is best known for starring in the Cinemax period martial arts series Warrior and was last seen in this past summer’s box office flop Snake Eyes: GI JOE Origins. Koji will also be seen this year in director David Leitch’s Bullet Train which puts him opposite Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock.

There is no details on what part Koji will be playing as of now or how much screen time he’ll own but hopefully the filmmakers added him to the mix for his martial arts wizardry as well as his dramatic acting chops.

Boy Kills World is set to go in front of the cameras in South Africa in the early part of this year.
