I have literally taken this next post with a huge grain of salt and have been keeping my eye on it ever since Korean powerhouse action star Don Lee (AKA Ma Dong-Seok) shared a teaser poster for the project last December. The potential martial arts action epic is titled Nonstop and evidentially Lee is teasing genre fans worldwide that he is teaming up with the likes of fellow Asian martial arts action superstars Iko Uwais, Tony Jaa and the icon himself Jet Li who has essentially retired from acting due to health issues. Lee got the ball rolling last December when he shared teaser key art on his official Instagram page for the movie which showcases all the aforementioned stars in animated form. You can see it directly below.

As you can see from the rather rad artwork above that if Nonstop is indeed a real thing, then fans should brace for sheer excitement because this will be an Expendables beatdown like picture with the best that Asian Action Cinema has to offer. What’s the plot? No one really knows and there were even rumblings throughout the action community that this project was going to be, in fact, animated.
Lee is currently making the press rounds for his latest smash ’em up action pic The Roundup: Punishment and he has added more fuel to the fire in a recent interview with Variety stating that among the future projects he has lined up, Nonstop is one of them.
“I still have a project left for Marvel. Also The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, which I’m remaking with Sylvester Stallone. And then I’m getting ready for something called Nonstop, which is an actual franchise where Asian martial art actors Iko Uwais, Tony Jaa and Jet Li – get together in one movie,” Lee stated in the interview.
Take note that Lee is doing a movie for Marvel and his western remake of his own movie, The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, which was announced a long while ago is still on the table. That one he is doing with Sylvester Stallone so that will definitely be on everyone’s radar. He also mentioned that this project is a franchise as well so there’s also that to potentially get revved up for.
The inclusion of martial arts icon Jet Li is the most interesting part of the cast announced for Nonstop because Li has only done a few small dramatic roles since he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2010m thus prohibiting him from doing physically demanding roles like he has done so many times in the past. Li has only appeared in minor roles in Mulan (2020) and League of Gods (2016) since his diagnosis. I feel that if Li does do this film, it will be more of an extended cameo and will not have the star doing any martial arts fighting.
If Nonstop does become a reality, even with limited participation from Li, it will undoubtedly be an action extravaganza with Lee tearing up the screen with Jaa and Uwais. No matter how you slice it, Lee has stated that he will indeed make the movie so we will just have to wait and see what truly transpires of all this. You can bet that this is on my radar so any and all updates will be firmly planted on this website so lock and load right here for future Intel as we are your destination for your action fix!!!
