By: John M Jerva

Michael Jai White is one of the biggest names in action and martial arts having been kicking large amounts of ass throughout the years. Now his wife, Gillian is ready to take center stage and throw down with the best of them as the couple star in the new action-thriller Take Back which sees Gillian having to fight hard as her past comes back to bite her. From the looks of it, Mrs. White might become the next big female action star right along with her husband judging from the footage released thus far.

New key art and trailer have dropped for the movie as it’s set to hit select cinemas, Digital and VOD this June courtesy of Shout!Studios.

Zara (Gillian White) and Brian (Michael Jai White) are living the perfect small-town life when Zara heroically foils a robbery and becomes headline news. This unwanted notoriety draws elements of Zara’s mysterious past back into her life, putting the lives of her family in danger. When Zara and Brian’s daughter is kidnapped by a sadistic gang of people traffickers led by the vicious Patrick (Mickey Rourke), the pair face a race against time to save her life. With Det. Chalmers (James Russo) also on Patrick’s trail, Zara and Patrick’s paths collide in a final stand-off in the desert.

Starring along with the Whites are Mickey Rourke (The Expendables ) himself as well as James Russo, Jessica Uberuaga (American Fighter) and Paul Sloan who was last seen in the trailer for Every Last One of Them. Michael looks to be in a supporting role here as his wife is in the spotlight in the action sequences but it looks like Mike still gets in on some fun. The film was helmed by Christian Sesma who recently put out Paydirt with Luke Goss and Val Kilmer.

Take Back releases on June 18th, so check out Gillian in action as she lays out numerous bad guys with some pretty sweet moves.
