Mike Banning is this generation’s John McClane. I’ve uttered those words more than a few times during the last several years of my website and it’s unfortunate that Gerard Butler hasn’t revisited one of action cinema’s most ferocious characters in a long time.
Angel Has Fallen did sort of wrap up Banning’s character arc a bit with reuniting with his estranged father played brilliantly by Nick Nolte but there’s always room for coming out of retirement. Just as Brett Favre or Tom Brady.
Lionsgate has just announced that they are releasing Angel Has Fallen on limited edition 4K Steelbook with some pretty nifty cover art and layout. Check out the details, including fully loaded special features, to the stripped down, visceral and most grounded entry in the franchise yet!

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
When there is an assassination attempt on U.S. President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman), his trusted confidant, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), is wrongfully accused and taken into custody. After escaping from capture, he becomes a man on the run and must evade his own agency and outsmart the FBI in order to find the real threat to the president. Desperate to uncover the truth, Banning turns to unlikely allies to help clear his name, keep his family from harm, and save the country from imminent danger.
Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler star in the political action-thriller Angel Has Fallen, arriving on SteelBook July 2 from Lionsgate. The third installment of the Has Fallen film series following Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen, the film follows a Secret Service agent (Butler) as he races against time to clear his name after being framed for an assassination attempt on the President of the United States (Freeman). Angel Has Fallen will only be available at Walmart on 4K + Blu-ray SteelBook for the suggested retail price of $37.99.
