I have never seen war, but it is one of those things that one can bet is awful to the extreme and should never experience at all. It’s bad enough that death is lurking at any minute but what happens when a group of soldiers stranded at sea discover they have more than the war to worry about? Well, survival takes on a whole new meaning in Wyrmwood director Kiah Roache-Turner’s newest WW II shark infested thriller Beast of War. Taken from a true story, this dark and brutal war pic tells the lesser known story of a group of Australian soldiers who must battle man and nature in order to sat alive.
Well Go USA has unleashed the new trailer and poster for Beast of War, and you can scroll below to view the goods!
Synopsis: When their boat is sunk while crossing the Timor Sea during World War II, a young troop of Australian soldiers must find a way to survive the harsh seas on a quickly shrinking life raft. Hundreds of miles from anywhere, they must confront interpersonal conflicts, enemy attacks, and the advances of one very large, very hungry great white shark. From Kiah Roache-Turner, director of Wyrmwood and Sting, comes this uniquely terrifying tale.

Starring Mark Coles Smith, Joel Nankervis, Maximillian Johnson, Lee Tiger Halley, Sam Parsonson, Tristan McKinnon and Sam Delich, Beast of War looks to pull no punches in its brutal and unflinching portrayal of survival at its most extreme. Kiah Roache-Turner made a name for himself with the over the top and bombastic Wrymwood films and now looks to deliver a more grounded and stripped-down viewing experience that is equal parts immersive and visceral.
Beast of War is also making its debut at this year’s Fantastic Fest which hits the legendary Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, TX, from September 18th-25th. The film joins other notable genre pics including filmmaker Liam O’Donnell’s anticipated alien action sequel Skyline: Warpath starring Iko Uwais and Scott Adkins as well as the brutal sequel Sisu: Road to Revenge.
