Vikings, Ninjas & Fighter Planes! Oh My! Last week at the 20th Century Studios/Disney panel at CinemaCon it was unveiled that the new and mysterious animated Predator anthology film would be called Predator: Killer of Killers. The news was brought with much excitement but that was nothing compared to what happened today when the studio surprisingly unveiled a new trailer and poster for the film. Prey helmer Dan Trachtenberg returns to direct which will see three generations of warriors go up against the galaxy’s fiercest killing machine. Check out the animated bloody action in the new promo below as this sets the table for Predator: Badlands which will hit this fall!
The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.

The release of the trailer and gripping new key art also comes with the annoucement that we won’t have to long to wait to watch the bloodletting commence as the animated sci-fi actioner will debut on June 6th on HULU! Predator: Killer of Killers is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who also helmed the upcoming and ambitious Predator: Badlands, with Josh Wassung, from animation company The Third Floor, serving as co-director. The film is written byMicho Robert Rutare and story by Trachtenberg and Rutare, based on characters created by Jim Thomas & John Thomas. The producers are John Davis, Dan Trachtenberg, p.g.a., Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, p.g.a., with Lawrence Gordon, James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas, and Stefan Grube as executive producers.

Reviewing the new trailer, this is exactly what Predator fans have been clamoring for as it showcases the Predator throughout the centuries taking on the best of the best that armed and unarmed combat have to offer. Being an enthusiast of the martial arts, I’m most excited to see the iconic intergalactic trophy hunter go up against the samurai and ninja of Feudal Japan. The trailer is loaded with unflinching kills and cover your horror worthy gore so this should satisfy fans, bloodlust for a very graphic and uncompromising vision in the action design and storytelling. The new look Predators are even more of a massive homerun in design and execution, and this is the perfect way to boast enthusiasm for Trachtenberg’s live action Badlands which sounds downright ridiculous in all the best ways possible.
