The heyday of 90’s DTV VHS action greatness cannot be categorized any better than by watching the output of PM Entertainment’s relentless surge of bombastic action cinema starring some of the greatest action stars of that day delivering some of the greatest action set pieces ever. One such star is British kickboxing sensation Gary Daniels who was one of the top talents the genre had to offer, and his best output was his films with PM which also included Deadly Target, Rage and Riot. Add in veteran action director and martial artist maestro himself Art Camacho behind the camera as director and fans were treated to some of the finest adrenaline laced fisticuffs and firepower that was available.
Daniels and Camacho teamed up for 1998’s Recoil which is a 95-minute barrage of bullets, bravado, and beatdowns in a film that was essentially Daniels as The Punisher. All you had to do was slap a skull on his chest and have him say “God’s Going to Sit this One Out.” Camacho directed the film and to this day, very few films hold a candle to this onslaught of practical stunts, effects, insane vehicular warfare and brutal fight choreography that this movie had to offer. It was action euphoria and even watching the film to this day is a rare treat for fans of the savage science.

The Action Elite Live celebrated Recoil last night as Action Elite guru Eoin Friel, myself, J-Man and Charlie chatted up this great example of American action cinema and Eoin brought on none other than Art Camacho himself to talk about the film and making it and delivered some of the greatest behind the scenes anecdotes ever about the glory days of DTV action in its prime. This is essential behind the scenes goodness about one of the greatest action films in PM Entertainment’s film arsenal.
