It’s a brand new year and with it, we are starring to get more word on new action projects that will hit in 2022. With the Omnicron variant in full swing, it’s looking like streaming will be the way to go again as many theaters are closing once again and release schedulers continue to shift.
Netflix is still leading the charge and this March, Noomi Rapace who has already starred in a few Netflix films like Close and What Happened to Monday, is back on the streaming giant once again with the new Scandinavian apocalyptic actioner Black Crab. This one looks different as it will feature Rapace and cast on ice skates as soldiers who must maneuver through a frigid and desolate world to complete a harrowing mission. The film is based on Jerker Virdborg’s novel of the same name.
New images on set have surfaced courtesy of the site What’s New on Netflix and you can check them out below along with the full synopsis and cast below!

Official Synopsis: Black Crab is a Scandinavian action thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by climate change and war. During an endless winter, six soldiers are sent on a dangerous mission across the frozen sea to transport a package that could finally end the war. Equipped with weapons and ice skates, unaware of what they’re carrying, or who they can trust, the mission challenges their beliefs and forces them to ask: what are they willing to sacrifice for their own survival?
Directed by Adam Berg who is making his feature film directorial debut, Rapace stars along with Jakob Oftebro (The Letter for the King, Agent Hamilton, Norsemen), Erik Enge (Beck, The Bridge, The Sandhamn Murders), Dar Salim (Dicte, Borgen, Game of Thrones), and Ardalan Esmaili (The Rain, Rebecka Martinsson, Greyzone).
Rapace made a statement about the film in the official press release:
“I’m very excited to come back to Sweden and do Black Crab. My first Swedish film in years. Can’t wait to get suited up and go on this journey – explore human shadows and slide through broken dreams and a world on edge. Survival to what price?”
Director Adam Berg added:
“I’m very happy and proud to have such a strong cast breathe life into this movie and our characters. These skilled actors, their eyes, voices, faces and bodies will carry us through the story. They will make us feel the brutality of war, the importance of hope in a hopeless world and the hard price you have to pay for survival. They will bring a beautiful humanity to the cold harsh world that is the Black Crab.”
Black Crab is set to hit Netflix on March 18th so expect a trailer to drop soon.
