Posting the trailers that hit today a little late but quite frankly, I’m sure you all were waiting for me in the first place. Well, even though that’s not true but regardless I have the obligation to post the new trailer for Supergirl: and give a little perspective from my end. Many are skeptical but I am looking forward to seeing this one and now we have a fresh look at the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow adaptation now with more Jason Momoa as Lobo! Check out Milly Alcock in action as she soars through one hell of a redemption arc below!
With the latest look, we now have more intel on what the latest DCU entry will be about, and it does look like it will be borrowing one of the more heartbreaking plot threads from the comic it is based on. First off, when her father is brutally killed and the assailant responsible is still free, a female alien teenager named Ruthye Marye Knoll tries to enlist Supergirl to get her vengeance. The second plot point reconfirmed that DC baddie Krem of the Yellow Hills takes out our beloved Krypto by releasing a poisoned bolt as Kara’s super pooch tries to derail Krem’s escape. With only three days before Krypto’s demise, Supergirl learns that that the brigands are known for having special antidotes to counter their poisons. However, Krypto only has three days to live without that treatment. With a firm deadline in play, Supergirl must now do whatever it takes to save Krypto while also trying to help Ruthye, so the latter doesn’t kill herself while trying to get her revenge.

Supergirl stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Emily Beechum as Alura, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll. Craig Gillespie directs from a script penned by Ana Nogueira. The film looks to take its cue from the bestselling Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow which was written by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely. The synopsis was as follows: “After her father is murdered and the one responsible is still out there, a young alien girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll seeks out Supergirl to help her on a vicious mission. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost.”
Trailer reaction is high on this second look at Supergirl and Momoa looks sensational as Lobo as we get to see some clever interaction between himself and Kara. We also get some awesome shots of Kara going all out with her superpowers as she decimates countless goons with some nasty extreme prejudice. I’m also digging the redemption arc for Supergirl here as her character is emotionally damaged as she was much older when she lost her people unlike Kal-El who was a baby when Krypton met its demise. I love the Supergirl’s yin to Superman’s yang.
We also see a cameo from David Corenswet’s Superman who is pleading with Kara to return. Corenswet being in the movie was the worst kept secret with the film, but it remains to be seen how much he truly is in it. Regardless, seeing Alcock and Momoa share some instant chemistry was worth viewing alone so fingers crossed that this one delivers on its promise.
