Action acquisition news is incoming as we have word that Roadside Attractions and Saban Films have nabbed up the North American rights to the new electrifying thriller Fuze. The upcoming thriller boasts a sensational cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Sam Worthington. The film is an eclectic heist actioner that unfolds when a WWII bomb is discovered in modern day London leading to much more. Scroll below for the first look and details!
Set in contemporary London, Fuze unfolds after an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site, forcing a massive citywide evacuation. Amid the escalating tension and chaos, a daring criminal operation is set in motion—one that uses the evacuation as cover for a meticulously planned heist. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur and moral boundaries are crossed, the film deftly propels audiences through a series of calculated twists delivering a wildly entertaining ride. A major wide release is being planned for Fuze which will ignite during the spring of this year. The film is already set to launch on Sky Cinema in the UK starting on April 3rd and a new trailer has surfaced as we wait for the domestic teaser here.
David Mackenzie directed Fuze and it was written by Ben Hopkins (The Nine Lives of Tomas Katz) with Sébastien Raybaud, Callum Grant, Mackenzie, and Gillian Berrie producing.
“With Fuze I really wanted to create something kinetic and cinematic – fuzing the excitement of a heist movie with the nerve-racking tension of an unexploded bomb film. The intensity and exhilaration of Fuze really comes alive on the big screen and am delighted to be partnering with Roadside Attractions and Saban who can bring this to audiences across North America.” Mackenzie stated in the official article.

“This is exactly the kind of movie audiences are craving,” said Saban Films co-presidents Shanan Becker and Jonathan Saba. “A big-screen, action-packed blockbuster from one of the top directors working today, featuring an all-star cast. Audiences and critics alike have embraced it, which is a rare and exciting achievement in today’s film landscape.”

The look of Fuze certainly warrants a theatrical release at the very least as the star power and action are top notch. Aaron Taylor-Johnson has always had my vote as a contemporary action star, and I did enjoy Kraven which is definitely a hot take, but I’ll defend that one all day and twice on Sunday. The movie looks to pay homage to heist thrillers of the past while doing its own thing and implementing the bomb disposal aspect which is a bombastically nice touch.
