Hot off the press of sharing a new pic of his upcoming actioner Diablo, we have some new Scott Adkins news this Monday morning as Screen Daily is bringing the word that the action icon is reuniting with his Legacy of Lies director Adrian Bol for a new survival thriller titled Breaking Cover. The news comes as the film is being shopped around for distribution via WestEnd so scroll below for all the latest intel on another Adkins Actioner!
According to the trade publication, Breaking Cover tells the story of a father and office worker played by Adkins who must fight for survival when a North American forest trip turns deadly after he and his daughter stumble upon an execution. No worries though because Adkins’ character also happens to be a former covert operative, so he has all the necessary skill set to turn the tables on the nefarious forces in play here. Once again, we have an ordinary man who is anything but and when push comes to shove the claws extract and the action design hits the fan. Bring it!

Bol was interviewed for the piece, and he calls the film a “relentless, immersive survival thriller” and will use “handheld, steady cam, and drones to ensure the camera never stops moving. The audience will feel every pulse of danger, every moment of desperation, fully immersed in this high-stakes journey.”
The film is set to begin filming this May in the Uk and is being produced by Mark Foligno, who was an executive producer on The King’s Speech and Freud’s Last Session as well as Alla Belaya through Sankara Media in association with Hyron. Foligno, Belaya and Adkins all previously worked together on the 2020 action film Legacy Of Lies as well so this is a reunion all around.
2025 is going to rock for Scott Adkins faithful as the action star has the aforementioned Diablo coming out as well as Skyline: Warpath from filmmaker Liam O’Donnell which reunites him with his Triple Threat co-star Iko Uwais. Adkins is also set to star in Kickboxer: Armageddon which will see him taking on franchise star Alain Moussi and martial arts action icon Mark Dacascos. There is also the WWII fight flick Death March from director Louis Mandylor and the crime thriller Reckless. Not to end it there but Adkins also has the recently announced actioner Day of Reckoning which pairs him with Billy Zane. Adkins has officially taken over the title of hardest working actor in action cinema which was previously held by his Lights Out co-star Frank Grillo.
If all those films weren’t enough to push the pedal to the metal for Adkins infused excitement, the man is also set to star with none other than Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in the Joe Carnahan directed thriller RIP. Adkins overload is in full effect right now. RIP sees Adkins starring as the brother to Affleck’s character in a tale of cops, robbers and mayhem.
In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out Legacy of Lies, do so now and watch the trailer below. I also interviewed both Adkins and Bol for the film when it came out so enjoy that on the audio version of The Action Fix Podcast!
