2025 is a month and change in and we are eagerly awaiting some of the most highly anticipated action films to finally drop. From Statham’s A Working Man to Nobody 2, this year is shaping up to be another standout for adrenaline cinema just like 2024.
You really can’t talk about anticipated action films without Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror and the two have teamed up once again in the new martial arts barn burner Diablo. I personally interviewed Adkins last year for his most recent release Take Cover and he mentioned that this one had the goods to satisfy fans looking for a little ass whipping on an epic scale.
A new image has dropped, from Adkins himself via social media, which highlight the two action stars squaring off. Take note as Zaror looks like he came straight out of a James Bond movie looking like an old school and diabolical super villain and missing some hair. He’s even got only one glove on insinuating that he is indeed nefarious.
Tease yourself for what’s to come with the new image below!

Adkins was quoted on the post saying, “Are you ready for the best martial arts action film of 2025?!!” further establishing that this one is looking to curb your appetite for insane and gravity defying action design.
They had me when they announced that these two giants of action were reuniting so everything else is just gravy at this point as we wait for release Intel.
Diablo tells the story of Kris Chaney (Adkins) who, after being released from prison, embarks on a perilous mission to fulfill an old promise but finds himself in danger when he kidnaps Elisa, the daughter of a powerful gangster. Her father, Vincent, puts out a call to the entire criminal underworld to bring her back alive. El Corvo (Zaror), a psychopathic killer, joins the hunt not for the money but for his own vendetta against Vincent’s family. Kris must evade both Elisa’s powerful father and a ruthless killer bent on revenge to live long enough to tell Elisa the full story that has been hidden from her.
Diablo reunites Adkins with his Undisputed 3: Redemption and Savage Dog co-star Marko Zaror with Ernesto Díaz Espinoza (Bring Me the Head of the Machine Gun Woman) directing. Zaror and Espinoza are close friends and have collaborated in past years with the martial arts action pics Kiltro (2006), Mirageman 92007), Mandrill (2009) and 2014’s Redeemer. The two just recently worked together again before Diablo with The Fist of the Condor which hit last year. Having Espinoza at the helm for Diablo bodes well for action fans as he really knows how to make Zaror look fantastic on screen and add in Adkins and this one has the makings of becoming an instant fisticuffs powered martial arts classic for the ages.
The film, which was written by Mat Sansom, recently finished principal photography and is currently in the postproduction stages. There is also additional casting news as Colombian actress Diana Hoyos (Sniper: Ultimate Kill, Oye Bonita, Nurses) is in the film as well. Adkins and Zaror also serves as producers on the film along with Craig Baumgarten (Universal Soldier franchise, Never Back Down), and Clay Epstein (Crypto).
In a new interview I did with Adkins for his latest actioner Take Cover, Adkins mentioned Diablo and said if you thought the other films where he and Zaror matched up were awesome then we haven’t seen anything yet. Be sure to check out my exclusive chat with Adkins coming later this week!
