Ben Affleck made a surprise appearance at the annual Next on Netflix presentation where he teased his new crime thriller RIP which sees him reuniting with his fellow New England Hollywood A Lister Matt Damon. The film, which is being helmed by Joe Carnahan, is said to be a cross between Heat, Narc and Training Day. You had me at Heat, but this just makes the upcoming thriller even more of a must watch given the star power which also includes action icon Scott Adkins. Affleck boasted about the new film saying that the movie will keep viewers guessing until the finale. Scroll below for a new first loook image of both Affleck and Damon!

During his stage appearance, Affleck stated: “This movie takes a look at the things people will do for money.” The star also added that the movie is “really fun, engaging ride that keeps you guessing. It’s a compelling, complicated human drama that also hues to these elements of cinema that people have loved forever.”
RIP is said to be taken from real life events and boasts a sensational supporting cast including Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino, Néstor Carbonell and Kyle Chandler. Adkins is listed as playing the bother to Affleck’s character. This will be the seventh film that Affleck and Damon have done together and will be another production of their Artists Equity production banner.
The synopsis for RIP follows “team of Miami cops whose trust begins to fray when they discover millions in cash in a derelict stash house. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything for the team is called into question — including who they can rely on.” With Carnahan at the helm, expect a lot of ammunition to be spent between the opening credits and the climax.
