Action/Martial Arts icon Jackie Chan is well into his 60’s but you’d never know it as the famed cinema fighter has been delivering some solid fair including some pretty dramatic fair like The Foreigner as well as Vanguard which saw him returning to his Hong Kong roots. Now Chan the Man is back with his upcoming sequel to The Myth which is called A Legend or The Myth 2. Jackie reunites with his ultimate director Stanley Tong who he has collaborated with for some of his best output including the Police Story films such as Supercop and First Strike. movies and his fantastic introduction to western audiences with Rumble in the Bronx. The two also worked again with 2017’s Kung Fu Yoga which was much maligned upon release.
Now the two have reunited once again for a sequel to one of one of their later efforts which was The Myth, an action flick that combined set pieces in both modern day and period ages. A Legend which is also known as The Myth Part 2 (are you keeping score?), has just dropped a brand-new trailer featuring Jackie Chan doing, well, Jackie Chan things. View it directly below!
The synopsis is still vague but according to The Arty Dan, Jackie plays an archeologist who gets caught in a sweeping adventure that transcends time after he finds an ancient amulet and temple. Stay tuned for a more detailed description.
Jackie shares the spotlight here with additional cast members including Bextiyar Gülnezer (Dynasty Warriors), Yixing Zhang (Ming Dynasty), Aarif Lee (Wolf Pack), Chen Li (Sky Hunter), Max Huang (Hidden Strike), Kim Hee-seon (Bichunmoo), Shawn Dou (Flowers of War) and Yecheng Zheng (Royal Nirvana).

The original film saw Jackie playing an archeologist who investigates when he continues to suffer from reoccurring dreams of a past life to which he the legendary general Meng Yi, who was tasked with protecting a princess named Ok-Soo. Judging from the teaser that was released a while back along with this newest promo, it looks very similar to the first film.
A Legend hits Chinese theaters on July 12, 2024.
