It’s no secret that Hollywood icon and resident action god Sylvester Stallone has had a very public and uphill battle on his way to fame and fortune. Stallone has numerous characters in his filmography that includes Rocky, Rambo and most recently Barney Ross that will live on well after he leaves this earth. Just like his action brother Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sly is getting his own candid documentary on Netflix titled…you guessed it…Sly.
Stallone is the subject of his own docu-series where he recalls his challenges and victories while becoming one of the most recognizable and beloved actors and filmmakers over the last 40 plus years. Stallone recants his intriguing life and upbringing which led him to make the iconic and award winning movie Rocky. The argument can be made that the film is a semi-autobiographical account of the actor’s own life.
Along with Sly, several of his most loved friends and colleagues make appearances to talk about him and their relationship wity the man himself. The guest list includes Quentin Tarantino, Talia Shire, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Henry Winkler. Stallone’s own family including his wife and daughters which he stars alongside in the hit new reality series Paramount+ The Family Stallone will also make appearances. Chr I out the new trailer below…
The official synopsis for Sly reads:
For nearly 50 years Sylvester Stallone has entertained millions with iconic characters and blockbuster franchises, from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables. This retrospective documentary offers an intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor-writer-director-producer, paralleling his inspirational underdog-story with the indelible characters he has brought to life.

Stallone has always been one of my heroes and not because of his movie characters that he created but because of his life’s challenges and celebrations. He’s definitely earned everything that he’s attained and he’s not done yet even though he’s well into his 70’s. Still in great shape and with a great attitude and outlook on life, Stallone knows he’s made mistakes and he’ll be the first one to admit it but it’s what you do when you get knocked down and Sly is one that definitely picked himself up and dusted himself off on numerous occasions in his life. This will be one documentary that will warrant more than one watch.
Sly hits Netflix on November 3rd!
