File this one under what the hell did I just read. According to THR who broke the exclusive, there is a new Australian action-comedy coming our way that pairs action icon Chuck Norris with 90’s famed rapper Vanilla Ice. No. seriously, here’s the link to prove it. Norris as we all know retired from acting way back in 2005 after he filmed the TV reunion movie Walker: Trial by Fire. Chuck did come out of retirement for a split second when he made a cameo in Expendables 2 where he played a version of his Lone Wolf McQuade character simply named Booker which happened to be the name of his character in his leading movie debut Good Guys Wear Black. It was great to see Norris back in action even though it was only for like 5 minutes but seeing him kick a little ass in the all-out finale was sublime.
Well, Action-Flix faithful, it would appear that Norris is coming out of retirement again (we call that pulling a Brett Favre) for a new action parody from Australia called Zombie Plane. Better yet, Norris will be playing a version of himself where he recruits infamous 90’s rap star Vanilla Ice into a special unit of Hollywood stars to fight the zombie apocalypse. No, you did read that right. Here’s the excerpt down below from THR to confirm it.
Zombie Plane centers on a secret government organization that recruits celebrities to be undercover agents, who together must save humanity from an imminent zombie attack. Norris, Ice and Monk play themselves (actually, Norris plays Commander Chuck Norris, who mentored and trained Ice into becoming a deadly secret agent), but the feature is reportedly full of of celebrity cameos, with a ’90s pop soundtrack including tracks by Ice himself.

OK. Let me just say that this sounds like pure cheesy goodness and I for one cannot wait to see what the hell transpires with it when it comes out. First look footage cannot come fast enough people. The movie apparently already has been shot and it was helmed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Pier of Chop Shop Post which is a “post-production and VFX house whose recent work includes Paramount+’s Last King of the Cross and Amazon’s Trope.” The film is also said to feature a host of celebrity cameos as well.
There’s really nothing more to say at this time expect Lock N Load right here for more Intel to follow because this sounds like cinematic gold. Now, can somebody in PR send me a screener of this when ready because I want to watch the shit out of it.
