At this rate, I think the only new movies we are going to get are the ones that are premiering on Digital and VOD as the news just broke that the video game adaptation Monster Hunter from Resident Evil helmer Paul W.S. Anderson is the latest release date casualty. The film was expected to open on September 4th but now the flick will join so many others that will now be pushed back until 2021.
According to The Wrap, Monster Hunter which stars Milla Jovovich and international action star Tony Jaa won’t see the light of day until April 23rd of 2021. I was feeling rather optomistic about this one as theaters are expected to open at the end of the month but now we will have to wait for this one as well.

Monster Hunter “centers on the leader of a UN military team named Artemis, played by Jovovich, who is transported to another realm populated by monsters. There she meets the Hunter (Jaa), with the two teaming up to close a portal to prevent monsters from attacking earth.”
Other cast members include Ron Perlman (Drive), T.I. Harris (Ant-Man and The Wasp), Diego Boneta (Luis Miguel, Rock of Ages), as well as Meagan Good (Code Black) and Josh Helman (X-Men: Days of Future Past). Anderson also penned the screen play which is the first feature film for him since he finisged his blockbuster franchise Resident Evil which also starred Jovovich.
The news of the delay comes just days after we saw a rather awesome new image of Jovovich which you can check out below courtesy of Empire Online!
