Sylvester Stallone just did a Q&A session on Instagram recently where talked about a few projects that are in the works. Stallone has been known to talk about projects in the past which never fully materialize so I usually take what is said with a grain of salt. Expendables 4 anyone?
Anyway, the biggest surprise that he mentioned was the fact that a sequel to his popular sci-fi action film Demolition Man is indeed in the works over at Warner Bros. The original 90’s classic starred both Sly and Wesley Snipes as two foes frozen cryogenically only to be thawed out many years into the future where they continue their battle royale.
Stallone mentioned in the video that it is “looking fantastic” which means that the proposed film is in some sort of development. Perhaps a script has been completed.
Stallone also stated, “We’re working on it right now with Warner Bros. and it’s looking fantastic. So that should come out, that’s going to happen.” Check out the full video below!
The original film was helmed by Marco Brambilla and was released in 1993. It also starred Sandra Bullock and Benjamin Bratt.
Stallone also mentioned that the planned Hunter is still on which I found interesting because that film has had a curious history. After the pandemic clears, Stallone will go back to filming Samaritan which is being billed as a dark superhero tale.

Demolition Man Official Synopsis: In 1996 Los Angeles, the streets are ruled by acts of violence and terror, nothing and nobody is safe. Simon Phoenix is one of the worst criminals that Los Angeles has ever seen, and only one man can stop him – police officer John Spartan. When John arrested Phoenix, he was surprisingly found as an accessory to the recent crime and was also sent to the CryoPrison. During Spartan’s 36-year sentence, Los Angeles’ theme and society had dramatically changed from one of violence to one of peace. Phoenix, revived for a parole hearing, managed to escape and uses Los Angles to his advantage. The police are unable to stop him with their non-violent solutions and have no choice but to release Spartan to stop him. Now Spartan not only has to stop Phoenix, but to adapt himself to the future society he has no knowledge about.
Sly also talked about his favorite three fights which happen to be with JCVD, Dolph Lundgren of course and curiously Devon Sawa from Escape Plan: The Extractors which is where Stallone threw out the choreographed fight and he and Devon just went for it and fought each other while making contact. I talked to Devon about it in our exclusive interview which is pretty cool.
We’ll see what transpires with this news so the future will be very interesting to say the least.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more on this developing story!
