I actually posted the news about the rather awesome looking sci-fi actioner The Blackout: Invasion Earth hitting Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital but at the time, only the international trailer existed. The film which hails from Russia is pretty ambitious and now Shout! Studios, who is releasing the film, has issued a new domestic trailer which you can now view below!

SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IS PLUNGING HUMANITY INTO DARKNESS …

When the end comes for civilization, it will not be terrorism or nuclear war that causes it, but The Blackout.

An unexplained phenomenon has struck the Earth. Contact between most towns on Earth has been severed. A small area in Eastern Europe is the only location that still has electricity. When military forces venture outside, they discover a shocking truth — corpses everywhere. In stores, in cars, on roads, in hospitals and railway stations. Who or what is destroying all life on Earth? And how long can the last outpost of mankind endure?

The film stars Aleksey Chadov, Pyotr Fyodorov, Lukerrya Ilyashenko, Konstantin Lavronenko, and Elena Lyadova with Ilya Kulikov penning the script and Egor Baranov helming the pic. The movie looks pretty ambitious and will certainly satisfy on a Saturday night with some pretty killer special effects and action set pieces.
