Hey, Jack Bauer is back y’all! OK, not really Jack but the actor that plays him on TV is back in action as Kiefer Sutherland is tacking up for a new actioner from director Justin Chadwick who is best known for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and The Other Boleyn Girl. Sutherland may not be playing the iconic 24 juggernaut hero in this one, but he still is going to ooze bad assery as Captain who must lead his men into war against a ruthless cartel when they attend one of the soldiers’ weddings. Mas bullets, action design and explosions to follow!
The official synopsis for Sierre Madre reads: “When Captain Jordan Wright (Kiefer Sutherland) and his squadron are granted leave from their mission to attend a crewmate’s wedding in Mexico, festivities are interrupted by a cartel’s murderous descent on the small village. As Jordan attempts to lead his remaining men to safety, war breaks out between his squad and the cartel. Now under siege in the enemy’s deadly stronghold, Jordan has no other option but to engage in a full-scale battle to save the only family he has.“

Mexican actor and producer Omar Chaparro (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and Netflix original series Thursday’s Widows) also stars along with Colombian actress Laura Osma (Equalizer 2). Additional cast members include a host of up and coming talent including Tommy Martinez (ABC’s Good Trouble), Solly McLeod (The Dead Don’t Hurt), Laird Akeo (Paradise City), and Orlando Pineda (Netflix’s Griselda). Ian Mackenzie Jeffers (Joe Carnahan’s The Grey) and Delbert Hancock penned the script which Highland Film Group will be bringing to the American Film Market this week for distribution inquiries.
Sutherland may be returning to his beloved role of Jack Bauer in the future, but this will do in the meantime. He clearly will be using his signature skill set that he learned for 24 and will most assuredly get down and dirty with the action design and some fierce weaponry. Lock N Load and stay tuned for more to hit!
