After the enormous success of Deadpool & Wolverine this past summer which seems to have rejuvenated the MCU after a string of failures, 2025 will be an interesting year to see if the house of mouse and Marvel Studios can keep the mojo going. On the cinematic front, fans are getting excited over future releases like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts* (can’t wait to see what the * is for), and the highly anticipated The Fantastic Four: First Steps. We won’t even talk about Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars which hit in 2026 and 2027 respectively. Those two films have a lot to live up to in regards to surpassing Avengers: Endgame.
Anyway, on the small screen front, Disney+ has whipped up a vert tantalizing sizzle reel for their 2025 releases which include What If? Season 3: December 22, 2024, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: January 25, 2025, Ironheart (June 24, 2025), Eyes of Wakanda (August 6, 2025), Marvel Zombies (October 2025) and Wonder Man (December 2025). The most anticipated series hitting on March 4 is the premiere of Daredevil: Born Again which continues the ultra-successful Netflix series and sees star Charlie Cox return along with Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal who is back as Frank Castle/The Punisher. The sizzle reel teases the show and gives us a first taste of the action sequences and even though we only see Bernthal for a few seconds, the last image of him is crouched behind a wall waiting to unload on a group of gun toting baddies. Along with seeing Cox, D’onfrio and Bernthal, we also get glimpses of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man coinciding with Ben Kingsley’s return as Trevor Slattery. There’s also Dominique Thorne returning as Riri Williams and Anthony Ramos’ The Hood in the Ironheart series. It all looks good so we shall see when each project drops. As long as Daredevil lives up to the hype, everything else is just gravy in my eyes.
