After the initial release of their sizzle reel last week, new martial arts-action film company Tiger Style Media made quite the wave with action film buffs showcasing a one minute plus barrage of no holds barred fight film action like no other. The reel showed off brief footage of the company’s first four films to hit in August and September and now with the first two bone smashing pics set to release this month, we now have full-extended trailers for Art of Eight Limbs and Lockdown. The first film highlights Mortal Kombat’s Ludi Lin front and center doing all kinds of crazy action design Enter the Dragon style while The Lockdown features Leo Howard (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and Caity Lotz (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) delivering the adrenaline empty handed goods. The two movies will receive a limited theatrical run as a double feature before hitting Digital Platforms. Scroll below to view both trailers now!

The plots for both are as generic as they come with both films centering on our heroes having to fight in underground death matches but that’s most of the charm as these are throwbacks to the 90’s old school action when films like these hit the video store shelves every Tuesday on new release day. It’s the action we all came here to see, and action is what we get!

THE LOCKDOWN
Release Date: In Select Theatres August 16, 2024 (Double Feature with ART OF EIGHT LIMBS)

Starring: Caity Lotz, Leo Howard, Michael Biehn, Hon Ping Tang

Synopsis: In this action-packed thriller from a producer of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Caity Lotz (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash) and Leo Howard (Kickin’ It, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) star as siblings Charlie and Jack, who are trapped in Myanmar’s toughest prison and accused of a crime they didn’t commit. Forced into televised fights where inmates battle for the chance to escape death row, they face off against the deadliest opponents where each match could be their last. Charlie and Jack must work together, their bond tested in a high-stakes game where only the strongest can win their way out.
Just like the initial sizzle reel, both extended trailers deliver even more maximum bare fisted carnage to spare while vibing a retro 90’s DTV flair that I’m all in for. I’m interested to see how Ludi Lin does headlining his first major motion picture as he was limited in screen time with the Mortal Kombat remake. He looks solid and hits the ground running in the footage we get of the fisticuffs. The supporting cast is top tier legit with the likes of Ron Smoorenburg of Triple Threat fame along with Grace Vorananth who looks especially nasty in her scenes of pummeling.
Lockdown is probably my most anticipated out of these two as I have always felt that Leo Howard is a solid martial artist and can translate the extreme skill set with ease on film. Caity Lotz is always welcome, and she is no stranger to kicking ass as well. Throw in genre icon Michael Biehn and this one is a no brainer when it comes to Saturday night adrenaline viewing.
Be sure to Lock N Load and check back here for full reviews on both once they hit Digital as I’m sure they won’t be playing in a theater near me which is a shame because I would love to see the action on the biggest screen possible.
