Asia, along with other foreign territories looks to fill the void for action fans with Hollywood still on strike with no end in sight. I won’t bore with any of that anymore, but I will turn your attention to China’s latest Sci-Fi Action extravaganza with the newly released to Digital Battlefield: Fall of the World. Director Zhaosheng Huan serves up a heaping dose of military action set pieces, hi-tech weaponry and decent looking CGI aliens for his latest venture that sees elite soldiers from all over the world banding together to stop an alien invasion that looks to wipe out humanity, You know, no pressure at all but fans get to watch the goods as there is ample amounts of machine gun fire, death and destruction to be had so check out the video below and partake in the silly plot that has been done before but is forgiven as long as the adrenaline is spot on.
Official Synopsis: Earth has completely succumbed to an alien invasion, and the planet has become a hell. To stop the monsters, troops formed by different countries have disregarded their personal safety to defend what is left.
Like I mentioned above, there is absolutely nothing new here but who cares because I love a good man vs alien onslaught with heavy firepower and explosions blended with the carnage. There looks to be some pretty subpar action from foreign actors and some misplaced humor but that’s par for the course in some of these overseas imports.
The above key art sells it as well so if you want to switch off the brain for 101 minutes then head over to VUDU and check this one out for a low rental price as well as to buy. You could do a lot worse trust me and if you like these films then this one is right in the high-octane wheelhouse.
