It’s time to get your fisticuffs and firepower on with a little dash of explosions as Netflix has finally given us a new teaser for the highly anticipated sequel Extraction 2 which will see MCU star Chris Hemsworth return as black-market mercenary Tyler Rake. Sam Hargrave returns to helm once again for the sequel that promises to up the chaos factor with more amazing stunts, action set pieces and second to none one shot sequences. Check out the return of Rake below along with brand new stills from the adrenaline joy ride!

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring. This is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González.

EXTRACTION 2 is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall and Sam Hargrave, with Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely as executive producers.

Hargrave has only directed two films, including this one, but has essentially thrown his name into the ring for best action director working in the industry today. His time as a stunt pro, which included working with Hemsworth in the MCU, has given the man an unique eye for high-octane action choreography that will lift you off your coach. Hemsworth’s Rake is also fast becoming one of the most popular action heroes out there and this is after we all thought he dies at the end of the first film.

Hemsworth looks even more impressive here which includes a sequence where he takes out opponents while on fire. Now that’s an action hero if you ask me. This simply looks amazing and after watching John Wick Chapter 4, this might just be the movie that can stand up to thar masterpiece and give it a run for its money. I mean, the man’s on fire and he continues to lay the pain down. Impressive!

Oh, did I mention how the trailer ends with Rake shooting down a helicopter with a mini-gun while atop a speeding train. yeah, there’s that also. I was sold within the first few seconds but that mini-gun was fucking icing on the cake.
