It’s Time to Break the Rules and Raise Some Hell in the High-Octane Trailer for Iceland’s Buddy-Cop Actioner COP SECRET!

Move over Riggs and Murtaugh because Iceland’s newest cop duo is about to go all high-octane in the new movie Cop Secret which hails from director Hannes Thor Haldorsson who just happens to be Iceland’s national soccer team goalkeeper. You heard me right. Haldorsson is hanging up his spikes and making his directorial debut with this throwback style action parody that shoots, explodes, kicks and punches. Hey, that just happens to be my prerequisite for watching an action movie. Take a look at the balls out official trailer along with new key art and images courtesy of Epic Pictures!

COP SECRET, the feature debut from writer-director Hannes Thor Haldorsson (Iceland’s national soccer team goalkeeper), is an Icelandic action-packed, buddy-cop parody that follows Iceland’s toughest cop (Auðunn Blöndal) who clashes with his new partner (Egill Einarsson) when they team up to solve a series of violent bank heists.

Synopsis: Iceland’s toughest cop will stop at nothing to solve a string of violent bank robberies. But when he is forced to take on a new partner, the pressures of solving the case prove too much for the tough-as-nails renegade.

This movie came out of nowhere for me and from a country that’s not really known for producing insane stunt filled action spectacles like this one looks to be. Throw in the fact that it hails from a man who used to block soccer balls, I’m intrigued to check this one out as the trailer has sold me with its images of bullets flying, explosions erupting and hand to hand carnage. It definitely has a throwback looking vibe to it and the soundtrack sounds pumping. Be on the lookout for my thoughts on this when it hits in July!
