Aside from the release of The Mandalorian Trailer, Disney and Lucasfilm also made a lot of people very happy when they announced that a Disney+ OBI-WAN STAR WARS series is officially happening with Ewan McGregor returning to play the master Jedi!
During the panel announcement, McGregor was present and received a stellar welcome from the crowd. Some details for the show was revealed and it looks like the series will take place eight years after the events of Revenge Of The Site. It was also stated that it will fall within the time span of Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The scripts for the OBI-WAN Series are currently being written as we speak and filming is said to commence sometime next year.
Mcgregor, of course, played a young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel series while Sir Alec Guinness played the older version in the original trilogy.
McGregor has been very vocal about wanting to play the iconic character again and now it looks like he’ll get his wish.
No other details were released about the series and we have a long wait until anything transpires but this is certainly great news for Star Wars enthusiasts everywhere.
