If you’re looking for more action output from Indonesia, then we’ve got you covered as reports are bringing the word that Asia Media Alliance Group and Nation Pictures have joined forces to output massive action offerings from the country hailed as an elite source of high-octane filmmaking. to make the report sweeter, international action stars Iko Uwais (Timur, The Raid) and Joe Taslim (The Furious, The Raid) have enlisted for its first slate of action goodness.
Per Variety: Asia Media Alliance Group and Nation Pictures have formally launched a joint venture to develop and produce genre films from Indonesia and Southeast Asia for global audiences, with a slate that includes Iko Uwais‘ action vehicle “Pendekar: Warrior,” an Indonesian remake of Korean hit “The Man From Nowhere” starring Joe Taslim, and “The Good Samaritan,” a Jakarta-set feature directed by Pierre Morel and starring Daisy Ridley.

The article added, “The venture unites John Radel, the producer and cinematographer behind Asia Media Alliance Group, with Delon Tio, the Jakarta-based producer who heads Nation Pictures. Hong Kong-based producer Mike Leeder of Red Packet Media is also collaborating with the partnership.”
The two production companies also recently combined their efforts with the Extraction franchise spin-off flick Extraction: Tygo which stars Korean action powerhouse Don Lee. Uwais’ Pendekar: Warrior is now in pre-production, and it will be a Silat driven vehicle to showcase Uwais’ talents in his native martial art. Taslim’s film is a remake of the prolific Korean action film The Man from Nowhere and they are looking to reunite the star with his The Furious director Kenji Tanigaki.
John Radel is no stranger to action as he has been involved in bringing some big-name action films to light. Radel has been a producer and cinematographer on films like Dev Patel’s Monkey Man, Michael Mann’s Blackhat and The Night Comes for Us which also starred Uwais and Taslim. Tio’s past credits include the horror Macabre which he produced while Leeder has been instrumental in bringing the finest in action over the years working with the best of the best like Donnie Yen while working on films like Triple Threat and The Raid with Uwais as well as The Man of Tai Chi which starred Uwais’ Triple Threat co-star Tiger Chen and Keanu Reeves who also directed.
