Alan Ritchson has certainly had an interesting last couple of weeks but it’s time to focus on his latest action-thriller which sees him teaming with veteran Hollywood funny man Owen Wilson for a new buddy actioner titled Runner. The new film hit CinemaCon today as Angerl Studios unveiled the trailer along with a slate of upcoming movies for the faith-based production company. Make no mistake though as Runner looks to be an adrenaline running good time infused with hope and breakneck action sequences. Check out Ritchson and Wilson in action as they try to save the life of a young girl who desperately needs a transplant.
A former soldier is thrown into a brutal race against time when a critical medical delivery makes him the target of a ruthless cartel. With betrayal closing in from every side, he must survive the chase and deliver his cargo before an innocent child runs out of time.
Veteran stunt pro turned filmmaker Scott Waugh (Expendables 4, Act of Valor) directs and the supporting cast includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Kate Box, Peta Sergeant, Geraldine Hakewill, Cecilia Toussaint, and Scarlett Crabtree.
Trailer Reaction for Runner showcases Ritchson deploying God mode and Wilson serving up laughs as the testosterone rivals the inspiration built into the plot. This may be faith based on display here, but Waugh looks to not skimp on the action and Ritchson doing Reacher things. I’ll take a little inspirational and motivational plot turns if it means watching Ritchson go all one-man army at the same time. Wilson is always game and the two look retro buddy action ready here so sign me up.
