It was built for war, but so was he! I knew as soon as I shared the first look images for Netflix’s War Machine starring Reacher star Alan Ritchson, the trailer would drop and so it has in all its bombastic glory. An elite group of Army Ranger trainees are about to be put through the ultimate test as an alien killing machine is set loose while they’re executing training exercises. What transpires is a full-throttle, immersive action film that was built for war! Enjoy!
During the final stage of U.S. Army Ranger selection, an elite team’s training exercise turns into a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat. Watch Alan Ritchson in War Machine on March 6th.

On one last grueling mission during Army Ranger training, a combat engineer must lead his unit in a fight against a giant otherworldly killing machine.

Ritchson stars as Candidate 81 and he is featured along with Dennis Quaid (Reagan), Stephan James (If Beale Street Could Talk), Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad), Esai Morales (Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1), Blake Richardson (Mystery Road), Keiynan Lonsdale (The Divergent Series), and Daniel Webber (Billy The Kid). Jake Ryan (The Great Gatsby), Jack Patten (NCIS: Sydney) as 109, Christopher Kirby (Iron Sky), Heather Burridge (Late Night with the Devil) as 122, Victory Ndukwe (We Will Be Monsters) as 135, Matt Testro (Nowhere Boys) as 38, Jacob Hua (Runner), Joshua Diaz (Fantasy Island), Alex King (The Longest Weekend) as 44, and Will Curtin (Love at First Bite) as 42 round out the rest of the cast.
Netflix just might be on a roll as The RIP which hit late last month with ben Affleck and Matt Damon was a true crime banger. War Machine looks to solidify Alan Ritchson’s status as a true, legit action star as the actor has already been crushing it on Prime Video’s Reacher. It’s time he gets a hit movie, and this looks like it will check all the boxes for the genre. I’m sure somebody will bitch about it like the fact that it won’t be overly violent because the alien is a machine, but I don’t think it’ll be me as I eat these kinds of movies up. This looks to combine the realistic, grungy feel of 13 Hours with the more over the top, chaotic tone of Battle: Los Angeles so I’m all in.
