UPDATE: It would appear that Marvel Studios is going all in on their next MCU flick Spider-Man: Brand New Day leading up to the star studded spectacular, Avengers: Doomsday. After teasing Tom Holland’s suit in a nine second video, Holland himself made an appearance in a follow up promo which showcased him wearing the suit and asking, “Are we ready?” I’m pretty sure everyone who loves these flicks are more than ready even though the film just started production and won’t hit until July 31st of 2026.
To spice things up, it has also been announced that Mark Ruffalo will appear in the film as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and he joins a stacked cast that also includes Join Bernthal as The Punisher. THR dropped the news, so we are all guessing that this is legit. They also announced that Michael Mando, who was Mac Gargan/Scorpion in Spider-Man: Homecoming will also return to the world of superheroes.
According to THR:
The plot details are being kept under the vest, but you can bet that, in the mighty Marvel manner, Spider-Man, Punisher and Hulk will all fight one another before figuring out who the real bad guys are.
It’s clear that Marvel and Sony who is also a part of this are looking to make Spider-Man: Brand New Day an event film which will hype up Doomsday and Secret War even more. What remains to be seen is if these movies will live up to the hype, but it would appear that Marvel is back on track after the success of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

(ORIGINAL POST) If you blinked, you missed it, but Sony and Marvel Studios have officially begun their ad campaign for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day now that the film is in production. The studios unveiled a brief and hard to see little teaser of Tom Holland’s new Spidey suit and you can view it below!
In the above video, the suit makes its first appearance, and it appears to look like a deep red color with very thick black lining for the webbing. The video is dark and quick so speculation will be insane from now until we get a better look at Holland suited up. The social post for the reveal read, “Something brand new is coming… #SpiderManDay,” so there is also that to wet the collective pallet.
Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Just Mercy, American Born Chinese) is helming Spider-Man: Brand New Day from a screenplay penned by Spider-Man franchise writer Chris McKenna who also did Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland, of course, returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man with Jon Bernthal playing Frank Castle/The Punisher. Other returning franchise stars include Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned. Newcomers include Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) stars in an undisclosed role, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Word on the street is that Bernthal’s Punisher will be less violent here which goes with the family friendly PG-13 rating. This is not a stretch as The Punisher has gone non-lethal several times in the comics while working with Spidey utilizing rubber bullets and non-lethal tactics. Some die hards have created an uproar over this but once again…read a comic. There are also theories online suggesting that the movie, which will now hit before Avengers: Doomsday will feature events that take place a year before that highly anticipated film. Doomsday was at one time set to hit before the Spider-Man film but that was changed as Doomsday will now release in theaters on December 18th of 2026.
