This year’s Super Bowl was definitely one to forget besides the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs were handed an ass whooping. How’s that referee conspiracy working out for ya? Maybe you all will finally let that rest. Anyway, I digress as the commercials were OK and aside from the new Thunderbolts* trailer Marvel Studios dropped, there was really no other spots to think of aside from another TV spot for Mission:Impossible: The Final Reckoning and a teaser for the action-thriller Novocaine which you can see in another separate post.
I’m not gonna lie as Thunderbolts* looks fun and I love when we celebrate the anti-hero and here we have a whole group of them with Florence Pugh leading the way as she reprises her role of Yelena Belova from the Black Widow stand-alone. Check out all the dysfunctional surrogate family chaos on the new trailer below!
Pugh is joined by a sensational cast including , Sebastian Stanas Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Lewis Pullman as Bob, and Julia Louis–Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Wendell Edward Pierce also stars in an undisclosed role with Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are also expected to return as Bill Foster and Melina Vostokoff respectively from Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and Black Widow (2021).
Check out the new poster which replicates a Wheaties box below! Brilliant!

Thunderbolts* will be the final film of an underwhelming Phase V so hopefully we end on a high note before The Fantastic Four: First Steps ushers in Phase VI. Prior to Thunderbolts*, Captain America: Brave New World is set to hit this week and aside from some criticism to a fight scene that was released, I’m still excited for it.
The plot for this newest MCU entry sees a rag tag team of anti-heroes come together as they are assembled by the government as a replacement for the defunct Avengers. Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo penned the script which sees Jake Schreier directing.
Hopefully we will finally get to see what the asterisks means in the title when it hits theaters on May 2nd, 2025!
