One of the most anticipated action-thrillers coming in hot for 2025 is a sequel to one of the best action-thrillers in recent years as we have a first looks image of The Accountant 2 which stars returning cast members Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. Ye sir, batman and The Punisher are tacking up once against as brothers out to stop ruthless assassins who have killed someone close to them. The first film was a taut, thrilling and explosive actioner with some hardcore action sequences and a satisfying body count laden finale.
Gavin O’Connor (Warrior), who also directed the first movie, helmed the follow up which also sees Cynthia Addai-Robinson also returning in her role as Marybeth Medina and J.K. Simmons as Ray King. Bill Dubuque penned the screenplay which sees Affleck also producing alongside Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams.

The official synopsis for The Accountant 2 reads: “Christian Wolff is brought out of hiding by Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina after someone close to them is killed by unknown assassins. To solve the murder, Wolff must recruit the help of his estranged but highly lethal brother Brax.”
When the 2016 thriller The Accountant starring Ben Affleck first hit, I was unaware of just how awesome a movie it was. It was truly one of the best sleeper hits I have ever seen, and it also starred a pre-Punisher Jon Bernthal in an equally rad role as well playing Affleck’s highly trained and dangerous brother Brax. Affleck crafted one of the most unique anti-heroes in action cinema with his portrayal of Christian Wolff, a highly skilled CPA with autism who just happens to also be a forensic accountant for several nefarious criminal organizations. The film was more thriller than action, but the adrenaline beats that it had were sensational with a rousing finale featuring a great firefight and some serious hand to hand combat damage.
