We’ve got some acquisition news once again as this has been a busy week for distribution deals at the AFM. Also, it involves actor Kellan Lutz so I can once again talk about how I randomly met him at my place of employment. Anyway, I digress but it’s being reported that Saba Films has nabbed the U.S. and UK rights to his upcoming thriller Desert Dawn which reunites him with fellow Twilight actor Cam Gigandet. Both actors have been solid as of late in the action department and now they are teaming up to fight corruption and cartels while investigating a woman’s mysterious death.
Per Deadline, the pic follows a newly appointed small-town sheriff (Lutz) and his begrudging deputy (Gigandet) who get tangled up in a web of lies and corruption involving shady businessmen and the cartel while investigating the murder of a mysterious woman.
Fellow Action-Flix favorite Chad Michael Collins also stars along with Helena Haro, Texas Battle, Guillermo Iván and Niko Foster. The other Action-Flix favorite Chade, the one and only Chad Law, penned the script along with Johnny Walters with Marty Murray directing the film.
I’m just going to put this here again for bragging rights purposes…
I’m still waiting for you to visit the podcast Kellan so hopefully we can work something out soon. In the meantime, lock n load and expect more to follow including trailers, images and key art!
