I’m not really sure that this is a sequel to a JCVD flick that anyone asked for but we’re getting it anyway as that the Muscles from Brussels is set to flex his action chops once again in the upcoming sequel Kill ‘Em All 2. Van Damme starred in the first entry as a mysterious assassin on the brink of death who must tussle with assailants while unraveling a conspiracy. The first movie was adequate albeit a little underwhelming so hopefully the sequel will up the Van Dammage. Check out the Intel on this latest actioner starring everyone’s favorite split inducing action star!
Official Synopsis: Seven years after the events of KILL ‘EM ALL, retired spy Phillip (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and his long-lost daughter, Vanessa, are living peacefully off the grid in Italy. But when their whereabouts are discovered by Vlad, the vengeful brother of their previous target, they must do anything it takes to escape his merciless army. On the run, outnumbered, and fighting for their lives, father and daughter unite to save themselves and the village that Phillip once called home. To defeat Vlad’s men and rescue the innocent lives they’ve endangered, Phillip and Vanessa know the job isn’t done until the last bullet is fired.

The first film was helmed by Van Damme’s longtime collaborator Peter Malota (Double Impact) but this time, directing duties were done by Valeri Milev (Re-Kill) from a script penned by Jim Agnew who is best known for Nicolas Cage’s revenge thriller Rage. Re-Kill was a guilty pleasure at best with a small appearance by a younger Scott Adkins, but that film was forgettable as well so I’m not holding my breath on this one.
Aside from a quick onscreen fight with his real-life son Kristopher Van Damme, who is an accomplished martial artist in his own right, and a climatic throwdown with fellow action star Daniel Bernhardt, there really wasn’t much to write home about with this one. I only have seen it once, but I can remember a lot of talk, talk and more talk between co-stars Peter Stormare and Autumn Reeser before we finally were rewarded with some brief action sequences. I’ll definitely have to break out my copy that I bought for $1. 25 at Dollar Tree to see if I still feel the same about it. Let’s see if the sequel will improve upon the original and offer, hopefully, a little more ass kicking Van Damme for our buck.
Sony is looking to release Kill ‘Em All 2 this September 24th according to the IMDb so we will see if that sticks and expect a trailer and more release info to drop any day now. In the meantime, check out the trailer for the first flick and see basically all the action contained in the film below!

I like cliche fu.
