Arnold Schwarzenegger’s epic classic Conan the Barbarian was a trendsetter in that not only was it one helluva sword and sorcery adaptation of the iconic warrior created by Robert E, Howard, but it also set off a barrage of films in its wake that celebrated the subgenre in both good and completely absurd ways. Some were great. Some were good and some were downright guilty pleasures to be kind but there is no denying that swords, sandals and sorcery ruled the 80’s film market.
One franchise that was unapologetic and in your face was the Deathstalker series that was released by prolific producer Roger Corman, and it made no excuses for what they were and that was unadulterated sex, violence and hedonism. These films were big business in the 80’s DTV market and the original’s success spawned several sequels including 1987’s Deathstalker II: Duel of the Titans, 1988’s Deathstalker III: The Warriors from Hell and 1993’s Deathstalker IV: Match of Titans respectively.
The fantasy realm of cinema was forever changed with these films and now we have SHOUT!FACTORY’S upcoming must have 4K SteelBook that features three of the best the franchise has to offer including the bombastically awesome 2025 reboot with Daniel Bernhardt. Unfortunately, the third and fourth films are missing so completists will have a problem with that but at least the best of the franchise are here including the 2025 reboot which was one of the best action films of 2025. Scroll below for the cover art and details!
