In cinema when one thinks of war movies, the usual WWII films always pop up first with the likes of Saving Private Ryan and Fury usually taking the lead. WWI is, for some reason, forgotten about and when it is brought to center, it’s usually the Americans or British that are showcased. That has all changed now with the release of Before Dawn which tells the unknown tale of a bloody conflict that was waged by Australian forces in the western front. Filmmaker Jordon Prince-Wright is a young and blossoming talent and has crafted a stripped down, savage war movie that puts these forgotten heroes in the public’s eye.
In this exclusive interview on the Action Fix Podcast, Jordon stops by to talk about Before Dawn, the hardships of filming an indie war film with budget and time constraints and above all, crafting the claustrophobic battle sequences that takes place in the blood-soaked trenches of the western front.
